news image for article 27Since its summer launch, the new ATEX Certified Worklite from Wolf Safety has received some excellent evaluations and has already achieved a notable level of sales from a variety of quarters. To date, 100 units have been sold to a leading UK offshore tank cleaner and maintenance contractor who has completely re-equipped his portable lighting needs with the ATEX Worklite. Other significant sales have come from utility companies, where the product is being used to light tunnels, sewers and drains.

news image for article 26Wolf has introduced a new LED Primary Cell Torch range, Certified to ATEX and IECEx by Baseefa (2001). The three torches in this TR-40 range incorporate high power LEDs, producing a flawless intense white beam of about half a metre diameter at five metres and a light source that is ‘fitted for life’. Each torch is powered by four x AA alkaline primary cells, which will not only produce an optimum output for up to seven and a half hours duration, but will also continue to provide a good light for up to 72 hours.

Powered by a sealed lead acid battery providing 14 hours duration on full power, the top of the range WL-85 Worklite incorporates a cluster of 12 high power 'fitted for life' LEDs, rated at 25,000 hours, with 30° optics to produce a flood of light.

news image for article 22We have applied for a renewal of the Lloyds Type Approval and MCA Certificates for the Wolflite H-251A and the Wolflite H-4DCA but there is a large backlog of applications, Lloyds Register have not yet completed their paperwork, and it is likely to be a least 3 - 4 weeks before the new Certificate is issued. Meantime, we have been advised that there is a "period of grace" beyond 3rd July of 3 months until the new Certificate is received, which means that the above products are still covered.
